01 / 1 Brown's Creek Kids' Race and Family Fun Ski Start: 1:00 pm End: 2:00 pm The fourth annual kids cross-country ski race and family fun ski will be held at Brown’s Creek Trails in Stillwater on Tuesday January 1, 2008 at 1:00pm and is open to children 15 and under. Families are encouraged to join their children for skiing and treats after the race. The race is $5 per child and the family ski is free. Registration is noon to 12:50 … races beginning at 1:00 by age divisions. If snow conditions are poor an alternative location will be used. For additional information contact Mark at (651) 439-5459. 01 / 18 Kinderlauf, Giants Ridge CANCELLED Start: 6:00 pm End: 7:00 pm Biwabik, MN Hosted by the Giants Ridge MYSL as part of the Pepsi Challenge Cup weekend. Registration starts at 5pm at the Timing Building in the stadium. The race is open to all kids through the age of 14. Distances of the races are: 100 meters, 300 meters, 1 km and 2.5 km Kinderlauf registration forms will be available at Pepsi registration headquarters or at Giants Ridge the night of the race. $5.oo entry fee per skier. 01 / 25 Willow River State Park Candlelight Ski-CANCELED Start: 6:00 pm End: 9:30 pm Ski 2 miles of easy trails and hike half a mile along candlelit trails. Enjoy refreshments at the National Guard bonfire at the boat launch or in the nature center. Visit with the hot air balloon pilots and crews that will have tethered balloons doing "moonglows." The balloon pilots will be here early in the event even if they can’t inflate the balloons due to wind. If there is no skiing snow, it may be canceled; call to confirm. Please leave the dog at home. 01 / 27 37th Annual Marine/O'Brien Ski Race Start: 9:00 am End: 2:00 pm The 37th Annual Marine on St. Croix/O’Brien Cross-Country Ski Race will be held on Sunday, January, 27th 2008 in William O’Brien State Park located just north of Marine on St. Croix, MN on Highway 95.
