At the Midtown Global Market (Lake St and Chicago Ave). Food will be provided, so please RSVP at least two days prior by email . We need additional board members! So consider volunteering your time for this great organization. Childcare for kids 2+ will be provided, but a reservation is needed.

Location:

We will meet in the NE Meeting Room, by the Kids' Play Area. This is on the 10th Ave side of the building towards the north.

Parking:

There is a ramp off of 10th Ave which is free for 3 hours with a validated (with purchase) ticket. There is also street parking and a metered lot on the West Side which is $1.50 for two hour max.

A new program for kids wanting to refine their skiing skills in the off-season. We will have plenty of MYSL Coaches and Junior Coaches on hand to teach the basics of rollerskiing technique and safety. We will also do some pole hiking and dry land drills and games. Parents are welcome to participate. 6 sessions, $100. All of the details are on the flier below. Registration is limited to 18 kids and the deadline is May 1st.

2008-09 New Club Drive

MYSL will be providing startup ski equipment for new clubs.

Potential new clubs must apply through the MYSL to be eligible. Each new club would be supplied with approximately 12-15 pairs of skis/boots/poles.

New clubs are always welcome, with or without the option of ski equipment.

 About 55 skiers showed up today to enjot the warm weather after having to cancel on the 20th due to sub-zero temps. The trails were in great condition as there has been limited use since the last grooming. A great time was had by all, some of the kids were still skiing an hour after class ended.

Hot cocoa, games, obstacle course, music, fun! Free! In Uptown in conjuction with the City of Lakes Loppet . The SuperCarnival is from 2-3:45 on the Greenway parallel to The Mall very near the Loppet finish line. The Sons of Norway Minne-Loppet starts at 4 pm (free, but you must pre-register).

The MYSL Trailer will be there to provide limited kids ski equipment. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Amy.

The 37th Annual Marine on St. Croix/O’Brien Cross-Country Ski Race will be held on Sunday, January, 27th 2008 in William O’Brien State Park located just north of Marine on St. Croix, MN on Highway 95. Skiers of all abilities are invited to the beautiful St. Croix River valley to participate in this fun-filled community and family event.

Hoigaard's and the Minnesota Youth Ski League invites you to Theodore Wirth Park the first seven weeks in 2008 for a Team Sprint Training Series. This informal Wednesday night race series is based on two-person relays with a different format each week. Bring a partner or sign up to be matched with a skier of similar ability.

$5 per race or $30 for the series. All proceeds go towards youth skiing! On site registration only. Minneapolis Trail Pass is required for those 12 and over. Registration begins at 6:00 pm in the main Chalet, races start at 6:30 pm. Come with a partner or pick one up at registration.

Dates with tentative formats (check back each week for changes):

Tuesday January 1st was the fourth annual kids cross-country ski race at Browns Creek Trails in Stillwater. 40 children participated in this year’s race despite the cool and windy conditions. Participants received a ribbon and treats upon completion. The race was sponsored by the St Croix Valley MYSL Club.

 

It was a great day with 92 skiers from ages 2-14 enjoying a great day on snow with family and friends.  We are looking forward to more snow and good skiing on Sunday 1/13.
