Hi. This is Ben and Sarah Olson. We have been involved in MYSL since the ages of three and four. We love to nordic ski, and we also love to run, play soccer, hockey, and many other sports. We are lucky because all of our cousins and some of our friends like the same sports as us, and we get to ski and run with them a lot. Every now and then we travel to a new place because of our sports, and we love it.
Young skiers from across the Midwest race on the Hap and Judy Lutter competition loop at Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis. Two days of racing, including a sprint relay and Ski-XC.
The Midwest Junior Championships is a joint venture of the The Loppet Foundation and the Minnesota Youth Ski League.
2.15.12 RACE SUMMARY: The MYSL/Hoigaard’s Team Sprint Series celebrated a fitting conclusion to the brown winter with light “snowfall” at Theo Wirth Park tonight. 24 Teams raced with the majority in the Parent/Child Championships with a longer format 2k for adults and a shorter .3k for youth. The track at Wirth was in great shape even after a bit of rain in the late afternoon and was extremely fast and conditions made for an exciting race.
Gold, silver and bronze K counter awards. Kilometer goals vary by club (but the standard is 100k/50k/25k). Count your kilometer online and get your pin!!
And, skiers get a pin corresponding to their level. Just the thing for your MYSL hat!
It's our third year sponsoring the MNYSS. This series emphasizes fun while introducing kids to racing. Do one, do them all, bring your friends. Entry fees and distances vary. Some races require pre-registration and some only have same-day registration.
J5, J4 and J3 racers earn series points with year-end awards for the top three in each division. Kids who complete three races will get a certificate. Certificates will be available at Midwest Junior Championships.
